“The Rhino-Turf UK designed products have been in the South African market for many years now, mainly via local contractors but an important fact is that more than 50% of the current FIH certified hockey fields in South Africa are with the Rhino-Turf designed product. Hence the reason to establish our own company pushing our own brand and making sure we control our own charge onwards and upwards! When the opportunity came about to sponsor this great hockey event at my old club then I jumped at the opportunity!”
Since its inception over a decade ago at Riverside, the ECC has stood for unity, grit, and high-stakes hockey. A tournament built not just on talent, but on collective strength, where teams rise together, and the badge on your chest means everything.
The 2025 edition will feature a fast-format competition, action-packed across four days, with South Africa’s best men’s and women’s club teams battling it out on the 2 Riverside Turfs. Every match will be live-streamed via Supersport Schools, amplifying the tournament’s reach and showcasing club hockey on a national stage.
